Members present:  Annie Downey, Gayla Byerly, Stacey Irish-Keffer, Lily Ramin, Donna Kearley, Annita Owens, Starr Hoffman, Fred Kamman

Members absent:   Kimberly Wells, Sue Parks, Thom Anderson

The Executive Committee met to discuss the list of titles and to narrow the list to the top three.    We found that we were pretty much in agreement on the titles,   As we all listed out top three titles, two titles quickly rose to the top of everyone's list.   The three titles were chosen based on the committee's belief that both the public schools and the universities could connect these titles to the curriculum, connect to various groups of citizens withiin our community, and the books would have a wide appeal.

The committee agreed that any of the top three titles would be acceptable to the committee.   The author committee would check with publishers to see which author might be on tour and available to speak.

The three titles are:

1. Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card, TOR Publishing  

2. Tall grass by Sandra Dallas, St. Martin's Press

3. Nineteen Minutes - Jodi Picoult, Atria Books

In other news, Greg Harden of TWU will serve as Co-Chair of the Film Committee, Jaci Smalley of Ryan HS, Denton ISD will be a member of the same committee.

Each committee chair was asked to contact the members of their committee to let them know when they will next meet. 

The treasurer reported a balance of $1,200.00 in the acount.
