Present: Ellen Truax – Programming Co-Chair, Gayla Byerly – Author Committee Chair, Starr Hoffman – Publicity Co-Chair, Annie Downey – Programming Co-Chair, Kimberly Wells – Executive Board Chair, Annita Owens – Publicity Co-Chair, Stacey Irish-Keffer – Youth Outreach Co-Chair, Greg Hardin – Film Committee Co-Chair, Donna Kearley, Executive Board Secretary, Tom Anderson – Author Committee, Fred Kamman- Funraising Committee, Treasurer, Juli Gonzalez – Volunteers Committee Chair
The committee met at Guyer HS to decide if the facilities would meet the needs of the group for the October 18, 2008 author visit. The group toured the auditorium, commons area, and library and agreed this facility would work.
The committee confirmed the time and location. A tentative schedule is as follows.

6:00 PM Book Signing at Guyer HS
Equipment needed: wireless microphone, 2 aisle microphones, 1 lectern microphone for the announcer.
We decided we would need to have volunteers for the doors to provide directions, in front of the school, in front of the auditorium, and for the book signing. 10 people needed.
We discussed offering Christine Card the choice of a hotel near the airport, or either a hotel or a bed and breakfast in Denton.
It was decided to print Denton Reads stickers to place on the books ordered for the various libraries.
Lily Ramin and Annie Downey would coordinate the book discussion groups. It was decided that we would send out the first press release on May 1st.
The next meeting would be April 30, 2008 at Barnes and Noble at 2:30.
